“Make an effort to settle the matter on the way.”

Jesus’ warning today is full of mercy: life is the road, and reconciliation is still possible before the courtroom of eternity. In this homily, Fr. Korey reflects on our tendency to delay conversion—to read every sign but the one in our own hearts. Drawing from Saint Paul’s cry of interior struggle in Romans 7, he reminds us that Christ Himself is our peace, our settlement, our deliverance from the war within.

Every Eucharist is an invitation to act now, not later—to let mercy dissolve what sin has hardened.
